Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra Members

Welcome!

Welcome to Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra’s (MYSO’s) 65th season! I am grateful for the opportunity to lead you this fall when we return to rehearsals as two smaller orchestras. This allows us to both physically distance and to play music not often performed by MYSO’s orchestras. For the time being, to make room at MYAC, these adjustments require that we move our orchestra’s rehearsals to Sunday afternoon instead of Monday nights.

I am excited to have programmed two symphonies, Ludwig van Beethoven’s 2nd and Felix Mendelssohn’s 5th. These pieces, along with other music by Beethoven and Claude Debussy, mixed with works for brass will provide lots to do and many new challenges.

To get started:

  1. Begin preparing for your seating audition by clicking on your instrument under “Seating Audition Requirements & Excerpts.”
  2. Find what orchestra you have been assigned to by viewing the rosters of the two orchestras below.
  3. Review your orchestra’s parts and recordings linked below. Assignments will be made in September as a result of your audition.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible orchestra and MYSO. Best wishes to you as you prepare for another excellent season.

Warmest regards,

Mr. Simmons, Artistic Director
