Caitlin Schmidt joined the Milwaukee Youth Symphony as the Development Coordinator in November of 2018. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Nonprofit Leadership. While attending UW-Madison, Caitlin was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society, as well as the American Fundraising Professionals collegiate chapter. She also had the opportunity to partner with and volunteer at several Madison areas nonprofits: Porchlight, Mobility Training and Independent Living Programs, and River Food Pantry to name a few.
Caitlin was active in music growing up, playing tenor saxophone in high school band and show choir as well as touring Europe with the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music in 2011.
While working on her degree, Caitlin took on various positions and internships. She served as the Capitol Campaign Intern for the hackerspace Sector67. Her most recent role was that of Marketing, Communications, and Volunteer Coordinator Intern for the Fundraising and Development for Nonprofits Conference, hosted annually by UW-Madison. Other roles she has served in include sea kayak tour guide and summer camp counselor.
Caitlin is currently a member of Milwaukee’s Young Nonprofit Professional network. In her free time, she enjoys being a patron of the arts, working out, exploring the city, reading, and playing with her pet gecko.
