BECOME A MEMBER

Auditions consist of:

  • A short solo or etude, approximately 3-4 minutes in length (no piano accompaniment). It is best if this solo includes passages of contrasting styles and/or tempos. Choose a piece that demonstrates your best playing.
  • Major scales
  • Sightreading

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Anyone eager to become involved in projects within MYSO is encouraged to volunteer. Parents, grandparents and other family and friends supply critical support as organizational volunteers. Areas for which we regularly need volunteer assistance include:

  • Concert assistance
  • Weekly attendance tracking
  • Equipment assistance
  • Data entry and other clerical assistance
  • Photography
  • Staffing audition appointment phone line
  • Assistance at concert receptions
  • And many other projects.

EMPLOYMENT

Join our ensemble! Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra is one of the most successful and respected youth orchestra programs in the nation, serves over 1,000 young musicians ages 8-18 and is regularly recognized for its artistic excellence.

We are currently looking to fill the following positions: Equipment Manager, and Orchestra Manager, Senior Symphony.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume via e-mail to Kim Jankowiak, Director of Finance & Administration at kimjankowiak@myso.org.

Applications will be accepted until we have found the ideal individuals to fill these positions.
